If you’ve been busily scratching events into your summer calendar, then you’re certainly aware that Father’s Day is quickly approaching on June 19th. We at Avondale Nissan are well-known holiday enthusiasts, and we’ve got our finger on the pulse of what’s happening in the Phoenix area this year. Enjoy Father’s Day at the Phoenix Zoo
Zoos nationwide have had a rough go of it lately, but we still love them. For whatever reason, Father’s Day (and Mother’s Day too) brings out the best in the zoo, and this year, members can enjoy a free Father’s Day BBQ in the scenic Stonehouse Pavilion. Then, you can go enjoy the many new exhibits, featuring over 1,400 animals in more than 30 different species.
Take Dad on a Father’s Day Cruise
Sometimes the summer heat can be brutal, which makes enjoying a sunset cruise all the more logical. The breeze, the water, the waves — it all contributes to the overall sense of relaxation. Some of the more popular in the area include Lake Pleasant Cruises and the Desert Belle Cruise, each of which we can personally recommend.
Take a Day at the Museum
Nearby Scottsdale recently opened the Western Spirit: Museum of the West, and it’s already making an impact as an attraction like no other. Located in the heart of Scottsdale’s downtown arts district, the museum features rotating exhibitions detailing the engaging history of the nineteen states that comprised the American West. And what’s more, dads get in free on Father’s Day as well.

Head to Uptown Alley
There are lots of arcades and bowling alleys found in our area, but it’d be tough to find one as enjoyable as Uptown Alley in Surprise. Dads get a $10 game card and two free games of bowling, and there’s certainly fun for all ages. Of course, the crowd does skew a little bit older, so it might not be terribly kid-friendly in the later hours.
