Nissan Record Sales August 2015
Sport fans hear this all of the time: Records are made to be broken. It’s not meant to be a negative comment or to diminish the accomplishments of current athletes, but it’s a reminder that, given time, there will always be someone or something amazing that will arrive and surpass what came before it.
It’s a positive thing to look forward to new landmarks and records. In this case, Nissan is celebrating a triumph from the dog days of summer – a record sales month for this August. As a Nissan-lover, you should be stoked. Let’s take a closer look at Nissan’s record sales for August 2015.

Tale of the Tape
You’re ready to hear exactly how much Nissan improved, so here goes: The automaker’s sales shot up 0.6 percent for August year-on-year. That might not sound like a lot, but that’s a big bump up when you consider 406,138 total units were sold, which was an all-time record for August. In addition, Nissan’s global production increased 7.7 percent year-on-year, which was also an all-time high for August.
Although there were a few pitfalls along the way, such as U.S. sales declining 0.8 percent for the month (though it still accounted for 133,351 units sold), Nissan notched its record month on the backs of some mighty achievements. Let’s break them down:
- Mexico sales increased 10.1 percent to 29,339 units, an August record.
- Sales outside Japan increased 1.5 percent, also an August record.
- Europe sales increased 9.2 percent year-on-year to 42,775 units, also an August record.
That’s a lot of data (we had to put down our Nutter Butter cookies so we could crunch the numbers instead) and a lot of good news. If you own a Nissan, you know why the sales are up – Nissans are quality vehicles, from the Altima to the Versa, and every model in between.
