Even though the nights are getting shorter and colder in the Phoenix area, we at Avondale Nissan are unquestionably heating up. That’s because in addition to an all-time-favorite full-size sedan — the 2016 Nissan Maxima, everyone — we’ve just received word that its smaller sibling is ready join the party. That’s right, the 2016 Nissan Altima is coming in November to Avondale Nissan. Let’s look at all that this entails, shall we?
We’ll start with what is familiar about the Altima: it’s legendary legs. Looking for great fuel economy? Try on the 39 highway mpg courtesy of the standard 2.5L four-cylinder, good for best-in-class status. Want robust power instead? Then opt for the 3.5L V6, which churns out 270 hp. In either case, the Altima receives a revised suspension system with all-new struts and springs. And, if you should choose the performance-minded SR trim, you enjoy an available manual transmission with paddle shifter to put the controls at your fingertips.
In keeping with the design language of such popular Nissan siblings such as the Murano and Maxima, the 2016 Nissan Altima receives the signature V-Motion grille and boomerang headlights of those models. Meanwhile, the 2.5 SR and 3.5 SR receive all-new 18” split 5-spoke machined aluminum-alloy wheels as well.
The outgoing Altima already had one of the finest interior cabins in its class, and it only improves for 2016. Soft-touch materials are now found throughout, best experienced from the Zero Gravity “neutral posture” front seats. The center technology stack has also been revised to be more ergonomic and feature an available full-color 7-inch touchscreen, and passengers enjoy the surroundings more than ever due to the available power tilt/slide moonroof.

The Altima has long been one of the safest vehicles in the industry, what with its standard Advanced Air Bag System and high-strength steel safety cage. The Altima ups its game even further with new crash mitigation features such as Blind Spot Warning and Rear Cross Traffic Alert offered to notify drivers of peripheral vehicles. And, for lovers of the Nissan RearVision Camera, this feature is now standard on models of the 2.5 S trim level and higher.
The 2016 Nissan Altima is set to arrive at Avondale Nissan in late November, so reserve your model or schedule your test drive today!
