What New Features are on the 2017 Nissan Maxima?

Just last year, we were treated to the release of the redesigned 2016 Nissan Maxima at Avondale Nissan. It signaled a sea change for the entire Nissan sedan lineup, which we are now seeing in the revamped models of the Sentra and Altima. However, such a revolutionary revamp hasn’t given the Maxima cause to sit on its thumbs. Instead, the 2017 Nissan Maxima arrives at Avondale Nissan with changes across the board, all of which you can see if you visit us here at our Glendale-area dealership.

What New Features are on the 2017 Nissan Maxima?

The Dawn of Apple CarPlay

As you may have heard, Apple CarPlay is preparing to set up shop in a large number of Nissan vehicles. As you may not have heard, the 2017 Maxima will be the first to implement this system. And what does this mean, exactly? It means that you’ll be able to easily integrate your iOS smartphone, and that you’ll essentially be able to control your infotainment system as though you’re just using an iPhone. For many of us, this is fantastic news.

An Awesome New Navigation Feature

In the 2016 Maxima, buyers were treated to an updated version of the NissanConnect Navigation system. We’ll admit, it was pretty slick. However, the new edition of the Maxima will allow users to take the navigation screen from the center screen, and simply swipe it over so that it appears on the central Advanced Drive-Assist Display. This allows for easier viewing, and lets you keep your navigation up while accessing other screens on the central touchscreen.

A New Maxima SR Midnight Package

Toward the end of the 2016 model year, the Maxima began rolling out some of its more inspired special editions. Continuing in that vein, the 2017 Nissan Maxima SR Midnight is coming down the pike shortly. The SR Midnight will feature charcoal premium Ascot/Alcantara leather seats, five new exterior colors, and 19-inch gloss black aluminum-alloy wheels. Stylistically, there is also a black spoiler, a black rear diffuser, and a sport-suspension package to make for a more thrilling driving dynamic.
As we mentioned, the 2017 Nissan Maxima has just arrived at Avondale Nissan, boasting many of the features that made it so popular in 2016. Returning are the 300-hp 3.5L V6 engine, the entrancing floating hood, and the dynamic handling that make it unlike any competing large sedan.
