The end of the year is always a fun time for festivities and enjoyment across the board, and it all starts in November with Veteran’s Day. Whereas Memorial Day in May is a time for remembrance of those who have lost their lives defending our nation, Veteran’s Day is a time for celebration and to salute our brave servicemen and women who are with us today. There are some awesome 2017 Veteran’s Day Events in Avondale AZ, so come join us at all the fun right here at home on November 11!
Since the weather is always perfect in Arizona, it’s never a bad time to go out and get some fresh air and exercise. The Veterans Day Fun Run, in true military fashion, will be set up as a boot camp, complete with obstacles, push up and sit up stations. But that’s not all; ammo can lifts and tire flips are also part of the deal! Keep in mind that all of these can be bypassed, but for the full experience it’s always fun to see what you can truly do when you put mind and body to it. All proceeds from the run will benefit the West Valley Center for Military & Veteran Success.
After the run, you’re invited to join the community for eggs and pancakes at Estrella Mountain Community College. It’ll cost you five dollars to partake in the Warrior’s Breakfast, but it’s free with military ID or Fun Run reservations.

Afterwards, feel free to stick around for the full festivities, including presentations from all branches of our armed forces, music from the EMCC jazz band, and speakers from Luke Air Force Base! All of this is sure to equal a fun and fulfilling time for all involved.
