At a dealership like Avondale Nissan, we sometimes get a little attached to some of our more unique vehicles. At the same time, the winds can change in the auto industry in a flash, and sometimes our favorite models are a casualty of these changes. So it is with a heavy heart that we announce that, if rumors are correct, this will be the last year of production for the Nissan Xterra, our iconic body-on-frame, off-road SUV. So, before we say goodbye, let’s take a minute to appreciate the 2015 Nissan Xterra, shall we?

Dear Nissan, Please Put the Nissan IDx Concept into Production

A few years ago, long before we got our first glimpse of the 2016 Nissan Maxima or the 2016 Nissan Titan, there was a different future Nissan model that stole our hearts. It was slickly designed, had a distinctly retro feel, and gave hope to all of us at Avondale Nissan who would love to see a compact muscle coupe like we used to see in the late sixties and early seventies. It directly recalled the iconic styling of the famed Datsun 510, and it was a joint project between Nissan and some pioneering computer designers called “digital natives.” Long story short, when we saw the Nissan IDx concept, we fell in love a little bit.

What if your Nissan LEAF could Glow in the Dark?

You would be forgiven for thinking that, given the professional tone of our blog, we at Avondale Nissan generally work with our serious faces on. Today, however, isn’t one of those days. It’s auto show season, we’ve got many new models to look at, and it’s a beautiful day in the Phoenix area. Oh, and we just got a glow-in-the-dark Nissan LEAF. This is a real thing.

Today, we’re taking a look at our favorite features in the 2015 Nissan LEAF, America’s most popular electric vehicle. Let’s get to it!

Get to Know the NissanConnect Mobile Apps Interface!

As people who enjoy technology more than we probably should, it probably comes as little surprise that the NissanConnect Mobile Apps interface has truly captured the interest of all of us here at Avondale Nissan. Now available on virtually every 2015 model, the NissanConnect Mobile Apps system offers unparalleled convenience for Phoenix-area drivers. Yet, many drivers are woefully uninformed of its greatness. Or at least they were until now. Let’s get into what makes the NissanConnect Mobile Apps interface so wonderful.

Is There a Way to Keep Your Car Clean When You Have Kids?

For every ten cars that leave our lot at Avondale Nissan, we would estimate that eight of those are purchased with the intention of carrying a family or children at some point. Of course, the rub is that, when they leave our dealership, they are impeccably clean. Once they become regular transports for children, well, this is likely to change. So how do you keep your car clean when you have kids? Here are five ideas from your Phoenix-area friends at Avondale Nissan!

Now that the Super Bowl and the Phoenix Open are officially on the way out of town, we can look forward to life returning to normal in the areas immediately surrounding Avondale Nissan. It was a fun weekend, to be sure, with Nissan making its presence known both on the city streets with models such at the 2015 Murano, and on the television broadcast with the highly-touted #WithDad advertising campaign. On a more newsworthy level, however, there was a particularly exciting moment during Nissan’s “Cats in the Cradle” commercial that eagle-eyed viewers caught right away: a brief cameo from the 2016 Nissan Maxima.

Share Your Family Time This Weekend With Nissan's "#WithDad" Campaign!

Guess what time it is, Phoenix! If you haven’t been tipped off by the scores of tourists who clearly aren’t interested in the Phoenix Open or by the droves of Seahawks and Patriot fans who are acting as though they like each other, we’ll let you know…IT’S SUPER BOWL WEEK! And, to celebrate what is fast becoming America’s foremost family holiday, Nissan has begun the #WithDad campaign, which encourages dads around the country to share the holiday with their kids and with their own fathers. Then, when you upload the memories to social media with the #WithDad hashtag, Nissan will compile them into a collection that truly represents what days like the Super Bowl is all about.

What's the Difference Between 4×4 High vs Low?

At Avondale Nissan, we routinely are asked questions about every vehicle on our lot. LEAF fans might ask, what’s the deal with regenerative braking? Those who drive the Altima or Rogue, for their part, are probably curious about the finer points of the NASA-inspired Zero Gravity seats or the Xtronic CVT. However, when it comes to our many four-wheel drive vehicles, one question probably supercedes all of the others: what is the difference between 4×4 high vs low? And when is the best time to employ one over the other?
