When a buyer visits Avondale Nissan with a new car on their mind, there are often a list of different routes they can take toward getting those keys in their hands. One of the most common, of course, is that the prospective buyer is looking to trade in their existing vehicle, which we commonly advocate doing at our Phoenix-area auto dealership. Yet, what are the advantages that trading in gives you?
It isn’t always assumed that a buyer is looking to get out of their current vehicle, which is why the full MSRPs are listed on a vehicle. If the listed price is more than you’re looking to pay, however, the value of your trade can help a great deal. When a trade is introduced, we then recalculate the price of the vehicle, generally in the favor of the buyer.
If you’re trading in an old vehicle that you seldom drive, there’s a better-than-good chance that this car is still lurking on your insurance policy. Sometimes, we even have drivers trade in more than one car at once. In these cases, buyers are then off the hook on the vehicle that they are insuring but not frequently driving.

Say that you’re looking to sell your existing vehicle at the same time as you’re looking for another one to buy. If you’re trying to sell your current car yourself, there’s a pretty high degree of legwork that will go into your sale: placing a classified ad, showing your vehicle to prospective buyers, and then going through the actual purchase itself. Trading in your car, on the other hand, eliminates all of this legwork.
Selling a vehicle on your own may require its own set of costs, particularly if your car is in need of an appraisal. In addition to what this inspection might cost, there might also be minor repairs that need doing, each of which might cause a sizeable dent in whatever sum you hope to get out of your sale. Trading in your vehicle shifts this cost onto the dealer you’re working with.
At Avondale Nissan, not only do we regularly work with buyers looking to trade in their cars, we also provide a handy tool to get an idea of what your car might be worth. To check out the potential value of your trade, click on the link below!
