What Does a Car Spoiler Do?

There are some parts of your car that, without proper knowledge, might defy explanation. Either it seems like something that might be a stylistic choice that just became commonplace (think window tint or ground effects) or perhaps it’s something mechanical that is phased out over time (think carburetors). But whither the spoiler? Many models have spoilers, but do they serve a purpose?

Behold the Nissan Fuel Station of the Future

Do you find the future scary? Does all of the talk of autonomous cars skew too closely to films like Blade Runner or I, Robot where the machines have taken over? If so, you aren’t alone; we’ve actually had similar fears ourselves. However, now that Nissan has revealed its plans for the Fuel Station of the Future, it seems like perhaps we might be able to put technology to good use, and that the robots aren’t actively planning our demise.

So know we at Avondale Nissan are here to help you get to know the Nissan Xtronic CVT, now available in models across the entire Nissan lineup.

NHTSA to use Technology to Prevent Drunk Driving

Isn’t technology wonderful? In recent years, we’ve seen technology used to create driverless cars, illuminate highways, use our smartphones in ways never thought imaginable, and take the Nissan LEAF to astonishing green-thinking heights. Now, could we potentially use technology to prevent drunk driving? That’s what the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is betting, with its new Driver Alcohol Detection System for Safety program, or DADSS for short. It is still in the early stages of its design, but if all goes well, we could see it in cars within the next few years.
