Father’s Day Phoenix AZ
This Sunday, families from around the area will all gather to celebrate Dear Ol’ Dad, and the types of possible celebrations are as different as dads themselves. I know that when it comes to my dad, he’s generally spent the Sunday afternoon of Father’s Day in the garage, fixing the cars of the kids who are home to visit him. However, this probably isn’t the norm, so here are a few ideas for your Father’s Day in the Phoenix area!
Take him golfing. Few areas can compete with what the Phoenix area has to offer in terms of available golf courses. Additionally, many feature Father’s Day specials where your dad plays at a free or discounted rate with the paid admission of his child. But how does it work if a guy plays with both his father and his son? Does only the child then have to pay? So many questions….
Take him on a (Grape) Escape. Two hours north of Phoenix lies Clarkdale, AZ, home of the Verde Canyon Railroad Depot and the Grape Train Escape. This wine-tasting and train ride winds through scenic canyons and ravines, offering both terrific sight-seeing and delicious wines from Chile and Argentina. Reservations are required.
Take him out for some laughs. The Phoenix area has a number of Father’s Day-themed comedy events planned for the weekend. The National Comedy Theatre-Phoenix has the Cheesy Tie Weekend: Father’s Day Comedy event, where dads will save $2 on admission if they wear an ugly tie, and the ugliest of all will win a ticket package. Meanwhile, over at the Comedy Spot in Scottsdale, comedians will be performing routines centered around the laugh-a-minute task of fatherhood.
Take him out for a good pampering. With an abundance of terrific steakhouses and sophisticated restaurants in the area, there will be no shortage of food options for Father’s Day. But what about spa packages? A great number of spas offer Father’s Day packages, including the local favorites like the Arizona Biltmore and The Spa at Camelback Inn. Who doesn’t like a little extra attention every now and again?
We at Avondale Nissan want to wish all the area dads a terrific Father’s Day, and hope that you realize how thankful we are for all you’ve done. Which reminds us of perhaps the greatest Father’s Day idea of all–Who’s up for a test drive?
