Where to Find your Christmas Tree in the Phoenix Area

The holiday season is here, everyone! We’ve already decked out our Phoenix-area dealership to make it a little more festive, and we’re sure that many of you have as well. For some of us, decorating isn’t a priority; yet, for others, it’s something we’ve been waiting for months to do. For those in the second group, today we at Avondale Nissan have put together something pretty special. Here’s a list of places to find your Christmas tree in the Phoenix area. (And no, we aren’t talking about a grocery store parking lot.)

Find your Christmas Tree in the Phoenix Area

Get a Christmas Tree Permit from Coconino National Forest
We’ll put this one first, because for many people, this is the only suggestion they really need. Although it’s a bit of a drive and there are a limited number of permits available, this gets back to the roots of the tradition — you know, like the guy at the right — when you’d go find your own perfect tree. Permits are just $15.
Vertuccio Farms — Mesa
If you’d like to keep things a little closer to home, then you can’t go wrong by heading to Mesa’s Vertuccio Farms, which always seems to pop up when we’re talking about doing something seasonal in the great outdoors. This year, they’re offering a fresh-cut Oregon tree, and are open from 10am to 9pm starting November 28th.
Tolmachoff Farms — Glendale
Another famous area farm, Tolmachoff Farms not only offers three great varieties — Douglas Fir, Grand Fir and Noble Fir — but also has pictures with Santa available from noon to 4pm, on the first and second Saturdays in December, the 5th and 12th. There will also be hot chocolate, apple cider and s’mores available for sale.
Tim Mitchell’s Christmas Trees — Scottsdale and Gilbert
If there’s a Christmas tree tradition in the Phoenix area, Tim Mitchell’s trees are undoubtedly part of the conversation. Since 1950, these lots have been selling some of the finest trees available, and they continue to do so well into their seventh decade. This is also where to go if you need an extra-large tree, and they sell five distinct types: Noble Fir, Fraser Fir, Grand Fir, Douglas Fir and Nordman Fir.
If we’ve learned anything from our friend Clark Griswold, it’s that it isn’t Christmas until you’ve found the ideal tree. We hope this helps in your quest, and that you’ll come see us at Avondale Nissan!
