To steal a line from Sir Paul McCartney, the party’s on, the feeling’s here, that only comes this time of year. This lyric comes courtesy of the worst Christmas song of all time, the ironically titled, “Wonderful Christmas Time,” and as bad as this song, it puts us in the mood to share some of our favorite holiday events near Phoenix for 2015. Are there any we’ve forgotten? We’d love to hear from you, and add them to our own calendar!
ZooLights @ Phoenix Zoo — Phoenix — Through Jan. 10th
Las Noches de las Luminarias @ Desert Botanical Garden — Phoenix — Through Dec. 31st
This one just gets better and more beautiful every year, which makes the anticipation that much greater to get back there. With over 8,000 hand-lit luminaria bags and thousands of twinkle lights to boot, there’s positively no chance that you won’t be moved by the feeling of the season. It’s a signature event in these parts that truly blends all of the cultures of our area as well.

The Santa Train — Phoenix (Ahwatukee) — Through Jan. 1st
For 37 years, and for 25 years in Arizona, the Polimene family has a pretty wild Christmas tradition: they turn their property into an interactive trainyard, complete with a Ferris Wheel, an Erupting Volcano and a Carousel Swing. The Santa Train takes donations that are given to the the Phoenix Children’s Hospital as well, and raised over $2,000 last year. If you’re able to make it, this one is truly worth the trouble.

Rawhide Snowy Christmas — Chandler — Through Jan. 3rd
For every weekend through January 3rd, the Rawhide Western Town in Chandler is hosting a distinctly Old West-style holiday, complete with nightly snowfall, visits from Santa Claus, and a tree lighting ceremony every evening. There will also be opportunities for shopping, eating and drinking, as well as attractions and rides every evening. Think of it as Christmas, Arizona-style.
The holidays are here, and we hope that you plan to make the most of them! We wish you a safe and happy Christmas season, and hope you’ll come see us soon at Avondale Nissan!
