How to change a flat tire in a Nissan vehicle

There aren’t many experiences on the road that are more annoying than getting a flat tire. Not only can a flat add more hassle to your day, but it can also lead to damage to your vehicle if you don’t diagnose the problem right away. Today we’ll show you how to change a flat tire in a Nissan vehicle, so if you ever run into this problem on the road you can get back up on your feet!

What do you need to change a flat tire?

If you notice your tires going flat, the first thing you should do is pull off to the side of the road; not only is this the legal process, but it’s also easier this way to keep yourself out of danger as you assess the situation. Before you start changing your tire, you should first check and see if you have all the essentials you need for the job. These include:

  • Car Jack
  • Spare tire
  • Bolt wrench

Many vehicles today will have a bolt wrench built into your jack, so you should be all ready to get to work!

Steps for changing a flat tire

Luckily for all of us, changing a flat is a pretty simple process. Here’s how to do it:

  1. Take your jack and prop up your vehicle on the side that the flat has occurred.
  2. Take out your bolt wrench and unscrew the bolts holding your tire in place. There should be five or six to account for.
  3. Take your bolts and store them in a safe place. We recommend either your front seat or a glove box.
  4. Remove your flat from its axle and bring out your spare tire.
  5. Line up your spare with your axle and place your bolts on it.
  6. Screw your bolts in tight to ensure that your spare stays in place.
  7. Gently lower your vehicle back down to ground level and store all your tools.

You’re done! Also, keep in mind that a spare tire can generally take you up to 30-50 miles depending on its age and overall upkeep. That’s plenty of time to get to our tire center for repair!
