We ask because the Phoenix area features a long list of great Labor Day events to help send your summer off in style, and we’ve found a few that we recommend. So put away your kids’ school lists for a few minutes, and let’s have a little fun before the days start shortening.
Do you consider yourself a foodie? Are you always on the cutting edge of what different restaurants and chefs are coming up in the Phoenix cuisine game? If so, then the Phoenix Cooks! event is for you. This features some of the finest new chefs in the metro area, and for just $85 in advance (or $100 at the door), you can get the best that our area has to offer. Proceeds to toward Banner Children’s Fund.
For 35 years, area Arizona residents have known that if you’d truly like to get a taste of nature while simultaneously relaxing, Salt River Tubing is where it’s at. Obviously, Labor Day Weekend represents one of the most exciting weekends of the year at this Mesa attraction, and you can count on running into many college kids who are enjoying the last gasp of their 2016 summer. Basically, this might not be extremely family-friendly.
One of the Phoenix area’s more underrated attractions is the Musical Instrument Museum, which happens to be the world’s only museum of its kind. Particularly if you’ve got kids who are musically inclined, you’ll find much to enjoy at the MIM. Over Labor Day weekend, visitors can enjoy the “Experience the Andes” interactive exhibit, while September 3rd also features the Mini Music Makers Class. Certainly fun for the whole family at the MIM, if you ask us.
It seems as though we always come back to the water park, but that’s with good reason. In general, it’s one of the only places that come to mind in where every single member of the family will always enjoy themselves. Labor Day weekend also offers a free fireworks show on Sunday, September 4th, providing a proper send-off to another great summer in the greater Phoenix area.
