The Countdown is on for the 2014 Nissan Heisman House

Nissan Heisman House

It’s here, boys and girls. Drive by any local high school and you’re bound to hear the crunching of shoulder pads and the whine of whistles as football season returns to the area. The level of excitement is high at the college level as well, as both Arizona and Arizona State are coming off 8-win seasons and are ranked either in or just outside the preseason Top-25. This excitement isn’t lost on Avondale Nissan, who–although neither the Sun Devils nor Wildcats has ever produced a Heisman Trophy winner–is eagerly awaiting the Nissan Heisman House campaign, where we toss a bunch of former Heisman winners in a house and watch as hilarity ensues. So, while we wait for the upcoming batch of Heisman House ads, let’s look at some favorites from years past.

“Rivalry”

In this spot, we see 1977 winner Earl Campbell and 2008’s Sam Bradford reviving the Red River Rivalry between Texas and Oklahoma. The overall winners? The viewers.

“Flashback”

Here, we see the cross-generational appeal of both college football and, of course, Nissan’s Z-Car. Features Sam Bradford, Robert Griffin III (Baylor, ‘11) taking swipes at Barry Sanders (Okla. St., ‘88) and Desmond Howard (Mich., ‘91), who in turn have some fun with Earl Campbell and Tony Dorsett (Pitt, ‘76).

“Quickdraw”

Having some fun with Barry Sanders’ reputation for elite quickness, we watch Barry beat several other Heisman winners–including Ty Detmer (BYU, ‘90), Matt Leinart (USC, ‘04) and Ron Dayne (Wisc., ‘99)–to their respective spots.

We at Avondale Nissan will keep area drivers posted with the updated ads for this year’s Nissan Heisman House, adding familiar faces such as Johnny Manziel. And, in the meantime, visit us at Avondale Nissan near Phoenix today!
