Here’s a quick question, courtesy of Avondale Nissan: what happens when you take America’s hottest 100% electric car, one that has already sold over 110,000 models worldwide (and growing), and decide that not only will drivers receive the benefit of minimal environmental impact and incredible efficiency, but that they will now be able to charge their vehicle for free for two years? That is exactly what Nissan has now done with the Nissan Leaf “No Charge to Charge” program, which is scheduled to launch on July 1st of this year in 10 American cities, including Phoenix.

The program works like this: on July 1st, Nissan will issue EZ-Charge cards to all new buyers of the Nissan Leaf, in addition to issuing EZ-Charge cards retroactively to all who purchased their new Nissan Leaf after April 1st. With over 100 charging locations in the Phoenix metro area, drivers of the new Nissan Leaf will never again be faced with uncertainty regarding charging status, and won’t have to worry about paying for a charge for two years. And it isn’t just the Phoenix area that is well-represented with charging stations: over 17,000 level two chargers are available nationwide, in addition to 610 high-speed level three CHAdoMO stations across the country.
So what kind of efficiency are you getting with the new Nissan Leaf at Avondale Nissan? With its extremely efficient 80 kW AC synchronous electric motor paired with an advanced lithium-ion battery, and produces efficiency numbers that are sure to turn some heads: the equivalent of 126 MPGe in the city. The benefits don’t end with never needing to purchase gasoline either; forget about needing oil changes in the future because, well, the Nissan Leaf doesn’t use oil. And inside the Nissan Leaf, passengers can take advantage of the 30 cubic feet of cargo space to make the Leaf as versatile in interior space as it is on the road.
