Nissan Sway Concept
At Avondale Nissan, we don’t typically get too worked up about concept vehicles, but then again, we don’t usually see concept vehicles like the Nissan Sway. Go ahead, admire the pictures above. What you see is the future of the Nissan hot-hatch lineup. The Nissan Sway concept has only been making the internet rounds for a little over 24 hours, and in that time, message boards have blown up with breathless anticipation that, as of this posting, we might not ever see in the United States. So, what gives?
Well, let’s start with the good news. The good news is that there is some precedent for a vehicle getting a release overseas, getting enormously popular, and then being pushed into production in the US while an anxious nation awaits. This is what happened with the Versa Note, which wasn’t initially expected to join us at Avondale Nissan until a sufficient groundswell of support helped to make it happen. So it isn’t totally without hope that we’ll eventually see the Sway in Phoenix.
And to that, we say simply, Thank heavens. It features a floating roof design, as essential to Nissan’s latest models as terrific fuel efficiency and composed performance. Meanwhile, it’s rigid exterior lines, snarling front end and V-Motion grille would fit well within the current Nissan landscape as well. Then you factor in its interior cabin, with a transparent roof design and motorsports-inspired instrument cluster borrowed from the Juke, and it’s clear that the Sway, having taken pieces from all of Nissan’s most popular models, would be a welcome addition to our inventory at Avondale Nissan.
So don’t lose hope, Phoenix. We hope to see the Nissan Sway concept at Avondale Nissan in some form in the coming years, and at the very least, we are optimistic that it’ll come to pass.
