These days, when you think of Nissan trucks, your thoughts will inevitably go to the models we all know and love, the Frontier and Titan. Don’t worry, you aren’t alone; the same thing happens to us at Avondale Nissan. However, did you know that there’s a whole untold history of Nissan’s production of trucks? It’s true! And now, with the introduction of the Nissan “Titan Truckumentary” series, you can enjoy it too!
As seen in the video embedded below, the “Titan Truckumentary” features Brent Hagan, a life-long trucker who, as luck (and skill) would have it, is also the production planner for the next generation of the Nissan Titan. He also happens to be a Tennessee native, having grown up mere miles from Nissan’s production facility in Smyrna. And, as the Truckumentary points out, each of these facts definitely informs the others.
Hagan leads us on a short tour through Nissan’s truck history, with entries including the first production truck, the 37-horsepower Datsun 1000; the first truck produced in America, the Job1; the rough-and-ready 1967 Patrol; the Sport-Utility Truck concept; and a host of other curiosities that have helped to get Nissan to where it is today.
So, to help get you excited for both the 2015 Nissan Frontier and the soon-to-be-updated Nissan Titan, enjoy this candid look at some of our most formative models. And after you’ve enjoyed it, feel free to stop down at Avondale Nissan and let us know which one’s your favorite!
