For whatever reason, fall really hits us hard at Avondale Nissan. Maybe it’s the crispness in the air, maybe it’s that football season is underway, or maybe it’s that stores are already stocking holiday decorations. But regardless of the cause, this time of year makes us yearn for fall produce, and luckily, Phoenix has no shortage of great places to find it. Here are our picks for the best fall produce picking in the Phoenix area.
Best Fall Produce Picking in the Phoenix Area
Schnepf Farms | Queen Creek
One of the area’s most popular locations for all things fall is located southeast of Phoenix in Queen Creek, and they’ve got something for everyone. Currently, visitors can enjoy basil and lavender, and when October comes around, they’ll have a month-long Pumpkin and Chili Festival to enjoy. There’s also a cafe, garden and petting zoo, in addition to an old-fashioned country store.
Mother Nature’s Farm | Gilbert
As a location that is popular with visitors of all ages, Mother Nature’s Farm can’t be compared to many other places. It offers a market with lots of different produce, and its alfalfa is currently in season. It also offers a pumpkin patch beginning on October 1st, and visitors can see some of Arizona’s largest pumpkins!
Tolmachoff Farms | Glendale
Purely in terms of produce, there aren’t many places anywhere — in the Phoenix area or otherwise — that can compete with Tolmachoff Farms. They offer an assortment of fantastic produce, including tomatoes, corn, peppers and eggplant, while the fall is noteworthy for its outstanding corn maze and pumpkin patch. All year round, Tolmachoff Farms is a cut above most other operations.
Vertuccio Farms | Mesa
And then there the fine people at Vertuccio Farms. A look at all that this place offers makes one thing abundantly clear: they are simply operating on a different plane. They grow an assortment of fantastic produce right on site, while this time of year features many great seasonal activities, including a zip line, corn hole games, an extreme air pillow, pumpkin bowling, and much, much more.
