Superstition Mountains
The Superstition Mountains are located just east of Phoenix and have been a popular destination for those looking to reconnect with nature. There are many different areas of the mountain range that offer breath-taking views of incredible landscapes that can be seen nowhere else on Earth. Remember to check your bag to make sure you’ve got enough supplies, and be sure to bring extra water. You’ll thank yourself later.
Tonto National Forest
Totaling almost 3 million acres, the Tonto National Forest is every bit as beautiful as it is large. If you’re looking for the perfect place to hit the rugged terrain and witness undisturbed nature, you’ll be hard-pressed to find a better area than the Tonto Natural Forest. Whether you’re looking for lake beaches or cool pine forests, Tonto has a place for you. The Tonto National Forest would also be the perfect place for a few Instagram selfies. Just sayin’.
Four Peaks
Established in 1984, Four Peaks Wilderness Area contains about 61,000 acres of land with a large mountain at the center. The four peaks themselves are visible for many miles away, and the rapid elevation changes allows for many unique plant and animal communities that cannot be seen anyplace else.
