Nissan LEAF drivers certainly are an exciting bunch, aren’t they? One week they’re turning a LEAF into a pickup, the next they’re setting Guinness Book World Records. That was the case last week during National Drive Electric Week, where EV drivers from around the world got together to extoll the virtues of helping the environment by going electric. In the process, they set a world record for the largest number of electric vehicles driving in a parade, with 507. And of that enormous number, we are happy to say, most involved were Nissan LEAFs.

You know what’s one of our favorite things? Being surprised. Whether its a surprise birthday party, an unexpected $20 in our pockets or just a complement we didn’t see coming, being surprised makes up some of our favorite moments at Avondale Nissan. And recently, we got a good one, when some crafty Nissan engineers took a stock Nissan LEAF and crafted…drum roll, please…a Nissan LEAF pickup! And they even named it “Sparky!”

Four Fun Uses for Pumpkins

If you’ve been driving around with your eyes open–you do drive with your eyes open, don’t you?–you’ve probably begun to see pumpkins popping up on the landscape like a bunch of adorable, orange Starbucks franchises. And, if you’ve taking the next logical step, then you already know what comes next: you carve a face into said pumpkin (poorly), wait until it begins to lose its shape, and then you emphatically throw it into the street.

Tonight is the night. Tonight, we kick off the NFL football season, ending several months of anticipation (and, if you’re a Cards fan, frustration that a 10-6 team can miss the playoffs). This comes on the heels of the beginning of the college season, which just saw the beginning of what look to be promising seasons from both Arizona and Arizona State.

The Deets on Distracted Driving

Old or young, male or female, we’re all guilty of it–distracted driving. According to the government-run website Distraction.gov, distracted driving increases the likelihood of getting into an auto accident by three times.
