It’s here, boys and girls. Drive by any local high school and you’re bound to hear the crunching of shoulder pads and the whine of whistles as football season returns to the area. The level of excitement is high at the college level as well, as both Arizona and Arizona State are coming off 8-win seasons and are ranked either in or just outside the preseason Top-25. This excitement isn’t lost on Avondale Nissan, who–although neither the Sun Devils nor Wildcats has ever produced a Heisman Trophy winner–is eagerly awaiting the Nissan Heisman House campaign, where we toss a bunch of former Heisman winners in a house and watch as hilarity ensues. Goodbye is always that hardest part. At Avondale Nissan, we slowly let our fleet of vehicles into our hearts (inasmuch as an auto dealership can have a beating heart), and sometimes, we find that a vehicle will be ending its run. And so it is with the Nissan Cube, a vehicle that embodies its name as perhaps no other vehicle ever has. Our embattled little wagon will end its US production following the 2014 model year, and this news has us feeling a little down in our collective mouths. So here it is, a bit of a tribute to one of the most eye-catching vehicles of our time, and one that is still available at Avondale Nissan for the time being, the 2014 Nissan Cube.
