We won’t lie; it is pretty satisfying when Nissan gets some gentle back-patting to recognize some of our favorite models. After all, while we at Avondale Nissan are certainly proud of our fleet of terrific vehicles, we would prefer to leave the props to third-party sources. And so, this latest news comes from our friends at the Kelley Blue Book website, KBB.com, who has recently named our own 2014 Nissan Versa Note to their list of the 10 Coolest Cars Under $18,000, calling it “exceptionally roomy and flexible” with “a bunch of cool features.”

While we certainly agree with this assertion, why don’t we take a moment to see just how these factors are in play with the 2014 Nissan Versa Note, shall we?

Requiem for a Friend: The 2014 Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet

In this space, we’ve discussed virtually every Nissan-related issue imaginable, from model information to service issues to the always-enjoyable “How-To” tutorials. In all of our travails together, however, we’ve managed to ignore discussing one of Nissan’s most stirring models, the Nissan Murano CrossCabriolet. The SUV convertible has always defied easy definition; however, it’s always occupied a soft spot in our hearts at Avondale Nissan. And that’s why it will only be harder to see it go.

Follow these Simple Tips to Avoid Auto Theft!

Simple Tips to Avoid Auto Theft

Once upon a time, when I was in college, I went to the theatre in our local mall to see a movie. (If memory serves, the movie was the John Travolta/Halle Berry/Hugh Jackman hacker film Swordfish.) As I was leaving, I remembered that I had some clothes to return, so hurried to my car to fetch my merchandise. Now, I went to college in North Dakota (Where?!), and it wasn’t at all uncommon for a person to leave their keys in the ignition of their unlocked car. For one whole year, I simply slipped my ignition key off the rest of the keyring and just left it there for safe keeping.

So when I arrived to where I thought I’d parked my car, to my shocked surprise, my car was gone. This is because I hadn’t followed some simple tips to avoid auto theft, which we at Avondale Nissan are happy to share to prevent you from meeting a similar fate.

Will we ever see the Nissan Virtual Supercar Concept?

Nissan Virtual Supercar

When I was growing up, I used to play a lot of video games. (note: Like, A LOT of video games.) My favorite games were typically racing games, and in particular, the games where I could use the custom builder to create my own race car. In most cases, these cars were more grotesque than cool, kind of like “The Homer” from the Simpsons. But sometimes you’d make a really cool car and think, “Man, they should actually make that thing for real.”

Fast-forward twenty years to the latest edition of PlayStation 3’s Gran Turismo franchise (called Gran Turismo 6), and the Nissan Virtual Supercar Concept.

How often have you woken up on a Saturday morning, thought to yourself, “Man, I have no plans today,” and then just instinctively grabbed your golf clubs? Too often, we frequently overlook what should be a more pressing mental matter: getting an oil change. It takes almost no time at all, it’s relatively inexpensive, and yet, we regularly neglect this vital automotive responsibility. So how do you know when it’s time for an oil change, apart from just checking your sticker from your last service? Here are a few tips, from your friends at Avondale Nissan!

This Sunday, families from around the area will all gather to celebrate Dear Ol’ Dad, and the types of possible celebrations are as different as dads themselves. I know that when it comes to my dad, he’s generally spent the Sunday afternoon of Father’s Day in the garage, fixing the cars of the kids who are home to visit him. However, this probably isn’t the norm, so here are a few ideas for your Father’s Day in the Phoenix area!

Everybody In! 2014 Nissan Rogue named to "Best Family Cars" List

2014 Nissan Rogue named to “Best Family Cars” List

What goes into creating a terrific family car? In all likelihood, terms come to mind such as “fuel efficiency,” “comfort,” and “convenience,” but in many cases, these terms can be pretty vague. How do you actually quantify “family-friendliness”? Thankfully, we at Avondale Nissan didn’t have to, because the fine people at Parents Magazine and Edmunds.com did it for us; they recently released their “Best Family Cars” list for 2014, and our very own 2014 Nissan Rogue made the cut as the “Best Crossover.” (Cue applause.)
